Jean-Michel Jarre on Laurie Anderson
Does Charlie actually listen to people? I'm surprised Lou didn't bite his head off. Laurie wasn't fooled however.
Really too bad that Canceled Charlie didn't just STFU and let them talk. His interruptions are infuriating.
5:06 Wait this is wrong
Lolabelle😻
Splendid song. The last half, on the angel of history, is based on Walter Benjamin's "Ninth Thesis on History" which was inspired by a Klee artwork. Splendid reading. What true aficionados need to ponder.
Laurie Anderson’s invited to be interviewed. She agrees to Lou Reed’s participation. Charlie Rose then spends 95% of the time addressing Lou Reed. Typical.
❤
Can't believe it's 2003. Lou seemed so energetic and young here.
The Klezmatics? Rhythm and Jews? Wow. They met at one of their performances?
Lola Bell! Lou and Laurie KNEW who was the queen!!! RIP Lola Bell!
It could be retaliation for the overthrow of Salvedor Allende on 9-11-1973 by Agusto Pinoche.
Lou & Laurie seems like they had true intimacy . A rare thing ❤

Thank you Lolabell
Divine 🌹🖤🇦🇺
She predicted it in "O Superman"
Charlie was the man who said good night to me every night
She is such a good artist. He was her mechanical arm 🦾 🥚
The white stripes? 💀
Two beautiful voices! Laurie's Yin and Lou's Yang ways... They realy make a WUWEI, that's to say, the "TAO 'two fishes' DYNAMIC/Sacred/SPHERE". They are a Tao couple. And is visible and delightful to see it clearly, the sweet love they share(d). I always loved Lou's singing voice. It's to perfection to the poetry of his songs. And what a beautiful feminine sound Laurie's voice has. Melodious, calm and at the same time strong and musical. Two real souls living the concrete life.
Its been 50 years since new yorkers became american?
I think NYC man is his best album as it says it’s played in the way he was intending the songs be played.
I think having Laurie there you actually get to see 'the real' Lou reed.
Mumford & Sons.
"What's it like to have such a powerful influence and then it be gone?" Good question, Charlie.
wow!!
Quando a Sanremo accadevano cose...
Is this actually scientific though? I mean I suspect there is more reason birds chirp beyond just being alive.
A Rat Terrier in NYC? Handy that.
Surrounded by idiots, we are happy to ignore you. Wes Rollins wrote that.
When i was a kid the loop of the voice used to scare me. I don't know why.
Same. Tbh it still scares me.
such a tender song
Miss those years when good music was played by john peel: indie, punk, reagee, dub, just great music!
so far ahead of the pack
Lou talks over her in a way that I don’t understand why she put up with it. But he had a more fragile ego, so I guess that explains it.
Laurie is so soft spoken, which is different from how she comes off in her recordings.
Art, expression paint a picture in your own mind, genius.
Most open and relaxed I’ve ever seen Lou Reed in an interview. Laurie was a calming presence.
These two seem like nice people
Dog weirdness Paris Hilton weirdness
Here come the planes
The most beautiful woman on Earth.
The lyrics are so beautiful
William Faulkner said that "work" was a four letter word. He believed that the concept of work created a joyless world and that one should stay away from it at all costs.
The dog had much more talent than those two hambones....
Soon as I saw the lady with a dog, I knew she was special.
SUPERRRR!!!! Thanks Laurie!
doesn't it recall you "Late Again" by Stealers Wheel?
Does anyone sense the "John-and Yoko" vibe in this interview; Lou checking in with Laurie about details of his life, gentle supportive gestures/reflections....and for her "there's nothing she can't do! She's perfect!) Granted: Laurie Anderson is an astounding artist in her own right. But there is no question of her/their loving support of each other.(Is there any other artist with so soothing a voice?)
Without Bowie this schmuck wouldnt make it further than being member of the worlds first punk band. Totally overestimated.
